About The Friends

Between April and October, we meet on the 1st weekend of each month to carry out voluntary work in the cemetery. This includes weeding and tidying, and is a great opportunity to get out into nature.

Purpose

The Friends were launched on 31st May 2006. Our constitution states our objectives as being;

'for the public benefit, to promote the historic interest of Hardwick Road Cemetery, Hardwick Road, King’s Lynn, Norfolk by associating the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk (hereinafter called ‘the Borough Council’), and local and national statutory and voluntary amenity societies in a common cause to promote the Cemetery’s architectural, sculptural, landscape, natural and historical interest and to provide such facilities as required for the furtherance of the social welfare, education, recreation and leisure-time occupation of the site.'
